Vans first released these sneakers last year as part of a limited edition collaboration with Urban Outfitters. It was a celebration of the original Vans Era model which debuted over 35 years ago. This year the sneakers are back, with some minimal changes that result in an even more attractive shoe. The body is a bit more pronounced (taller) while the darker, washed denim works well against the flag motif. Part deux is definitely a one up over the original, and deserves another look.
One look at this Neil Barret coat says a thousand words. A unique take on this Spring on the traditional Mackintosh, we would’ve been insane not to give this Italian made coat a S+D nod.

Who doesn’t love the concept of owning something beautiful that was meticulously constructed by hand? N.D.C’s specialty is just that, artisanal footwear that is thoughtfully designed and carefully constructed. Knowing the history of the brand, and the relatively limited number of stockists across the U.S., I get pretty enthusiastic [...]

I’m always on the lookout for good men’s bags. They’re a particular obsession of mine, which you’ve probably noticed if you’ve been around Smart + Dapper long enough. I’m also obsessed with Scandinavian fashion/design and its penchant for creating luxury goods using a simple and modern aesthetic. In my opinion, [...]

I’ve fallen pretty hard for YSL footwear this spring and summer. Of course it’s all for good reason, as they have a way of adding just enough designer touches and premium accents to make otherwise mundane footwear interesting. Part of a long line of footwear the label has released [...]

With the invention of the Mackintosh cloth, a waterproof fabric designed to protect people from the elements, outerwear brand Mackintosh was born (over 180 years ago to be exact). Mackintosh raincoats eventually received such acclaim that they were adopted as the official coat for the British army during World Wars I and [...]
